At times I find it more helpful to not talk about feeling/ emotions or energy at all, at first.
To ask, instead of "where do you feel that in your body"? ( -> "Huh?") something like: "What do you do with your body, when...", or "What does your body tends to do, now that..." And I can give feedback about what I see their bodies doing.
People who have difficulties with feeling (not just men, BTW!), frequently are more at ease with "doing" language.
Then I may ask them to do this some more... and then a bit less. And explore what changes when they do this (eg tensing) a bit less.
In their response, sooner or later they use words that come close to "energy language", such as warmth, a relaxation spreading wider, a tingling, vibration...
And, off we go... in ET land.
