"The truth is that ...
... EmoTrance, as wonderful as it is and in many ways, as easy as it
is, still needs a bridge.

EmoTrance was never designed as one of those stand-alone, cure-for-
all cult like therapies or healing systems which tells all who would
listen that you don't need anything else, this is it, we have Nirvana.

…I am in the happy position to not have to decide whether I should be
endorsing either EFT or EmoTrance.

In my opinion, both systems have a more than rightful place in self
help and therapy, and they work together like a dream.

One is not better than the other, or righter than the other; both are
outstanding "across the board" for a multitude of problems and it is
true that I looked to the content free design of EFT which I admired
so very much when I designed EmoTrance and made jolly sure that it
would share EFT's truly fantastic benefits in that way.

I believe that a good, no a full knowledge of the systems of EFT and
the treatment procedures are the very best grounding in the new
energy therapies approaches one might hope to find.

…I would not have been able to understand what I needed to know to
design EmoTrance without EFT; and I believe that any student of
EmoTrance would seriously benefit from knowledge about EFT - and vice
versa.

As I said, these two techniques go together like a dream and fit
perfectly, covering between them a span of possibilities of healing
and growth for an individual, it is actually quite difficult to
conceive.

The title of this article is, "Beyond EFT" and that is quite correct
in the sense that EmoTrance works with energy systems beyond EFT as
well as using a completely different model of the energy body - an
evolutionary rather than a static one. This be as it may, EmoTrance
*is* a direct progression and in being so, is inextricably linked to
EFT by precedence and also, by approach. I don't want to actually say
that not everyone is ready yet for EmoTrance all the time; the fact
is that there are times and place, especially with clients but also
in self help, where EFT provides the safety anchor in preference to
EmoTrance.

…anyone who does EmoTrance should, in my opinion, also be very well
versed in EFT."

And *that* may very well be the key to success for those who are
initially learning ET from the book without benefit of an experienced
ETP.

Even though! <g> I had been spectacularly unsuccessful with EFT
previously, the above excerpt was enough for me to dust off all my
versions of Adventures and pick up Gary Craig's latest revision of
his manual and throw in the new Advanced EFT book for reference and
do a complete cram refresher course for when the ET book came out.

And what happened when I first began ETing was that I could move a
little energy, find blockages that stayed blocked, discovered some
shields, and not much else. BUT the most perfect set-ups phrases kept
coming to mind, so I set the ET aside and took advantage of those
perfect set-ups. And for the first time the EFT did *something*. Back
to the ET and now things were moving there, too. From then on,
whenever a set-up phrase would pop into mind, I'd switch back to EFT
till that was cleared and then go on with the ET. I've been
practicing IEFT which makes the transition back and forth easier, but
together they make a heck of a combo.

It seems to have taken the ET to get the EFT kick-started, but now
it's the EFT that keeps the ET going. So now I just go with whatever
pops up, `where…' or `even though'.

Since my first read thru of the ET book, I have actually spent more
time back with the EFT books. And my experience has been that the
more I practice and fine tune the EFT, the easier the ETing becomes.

It may be for those that book-learn ET without the benefit of an ETP,
that a foundation in EFT is absolutely essential and not just a
recommended option.

Any ideas, though, on how or why that initial foray into ET waters
got the EFT moving?
