Re: [ET2] Intention vs Willpower - are we trying too hard?

Good points, Sandra.

This is why we also ask, "Where does that need to go?" and ENCOURAGE the
flow - not push it with our minds! It's the difference of massaging a
cramped foot VS shoving it this way or that.

One thing I've found helpful is to USE YOUR HEALING HANDS to stroke
physically in the direction where it needs to go, not just sit there and
make pictures with a furrowed brow.

- This keeps the mind through the phsysical touch on the erea you're
working on;

- the healing hands really help;

- as it begins to move, you get to follow with your hands, and your
intention can follow where the hands are, or return to where the hands
are if the beginner loses focus.

- Keeping your eyes open and looking at your hands and your body as
you're doing this can also stop trying to use the wrong modality to
encourage energy to flow.

- Don't give up after 12 seconds have passed. Imagine there's a
practitioner in the room who says gently, "So what's happening, where is
it now, how does it feel now? Soften and flow!"

- Remember to BREATHE. People hold their breath in sync with the
"furious concentration of willpower" Sandra mentioned and energy flows a
whole lot better if a person breathes deeply, breathes extra energy into
the erea that's being worked on.

- Finally, there's MOVEMENT. Like the holding of the breath, clamping up
into rigidity whilst trying to hard will block energy flow. Get up off
the couch or stand up from the chair and move with the energy flow.
That's as simple as wriggling a bit around the erea that's being worked
on, best you can, or stopping and taking a breath, free up the neck,
move the arms, shake out the feet, rotate the hips to free them up and
return to the erea you're working on.

When the energy starts to flow, movement above all else and breathing
deeply secondary is what encourages it most strongly.

And a tip - do energy dancing on a regular basis. I don't know a better
or faster way to practice ET and learn to do it much better and more
profoundly.
