Is it possible to have shields not of your own making/
As in " I was the buffer between your father and you children, I shielded you from him"
And yrs later--- the grown child says-" I feel like i am in a cage and I cannot get out" >>

"And where do you feel that cage in your body?"

When that is softened and released (or the shield opened), probably quite a different experience becomes available. Which is IMO much more relevant than stories or speculations about where it may have came from (or why the child held onto the shield, also when mom was not around).

For me that's part of the beauty of ET (and of some of the other METs too, in principle): that we don't have to stay in and struggle with stories/beliefs and imposed filters.
