Hi Joanne,

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is the number one way that websites running different software can share each others news, stories and articles.

The RSS feed on emotrance.com is:

http://emotrance.com/?output=RSS

If you view that link in a modern browser like Mozilla Firefox you'll see the latest news items in RSS format.

Most blog sites (wordpress, blogger, etc) and dynamic/CMS websites (SpaceNodes, etc) have 'blocks' that run down the side of that you can set the RSS feed hyperlink in, and it will display the news from that site.

If you own a Static HTML website, you'll need to use a 'widget' such as the one I customised on this page:

http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/rss

It generated HTML which you then put on your website. The HTML it generated was:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.widgetserver.com/syndication/subscriber/InsertWidget.js"></script><script>if (WIDGETBOX) WIDGETBOX.renderWidget('d1801a9e-de0d-497e-bc66-469d20f5cfcb');</script><noscript>Get the RSS Widget widget and many other great free widgets at Widgetbox! Not seeing a widget? (More info)</noscript>

I haven't tried this HTML so don't know what it's like!

Best wishes,

Alex
