I can see where he came from. Without energy therapies, what you have
is: if something makes you anxious, you can retreat. In which case
you are limited. If you face the anxiety and the area, you can
achieve greater freedom.

For example, as a child I was afraid of getting my head under water.
I could swim, but only with my head above water. A friend coaxed me
into trying it a few times, and after that I had so much fun swimming
under water.
Sure, the basic trauma was not resolved, those were the old days, but
I got a lot of freedom nevertheless by facing my anxiety.
