Dear Colleague

Thanks to all those who made the inaugural meeting of the NW METs -
it went really well and everybody made a valuable contribution.

Members discussed how the NW METs should operate and decided on
quarterly meetings which would generally last half a day and these
would take place in Blackburn at present as Tap & Zap are providing
the venue for free. In order to meet our running costs (heat, light
etc.) an annual membership fee of £10 will be charged. We also need
to cover the costs of our speakers and this is generally expected to
be £10 per person per session. Bob Patefield very kindly agreed to
set up a closed Yahoo group for the NW METs and this has now been
done so once you have joined the NW METs we will pass your details on
to Bob and you will then be able to join the group. Alternatively you
can go to the group and ask to join and then Bob will check with us
that you are a NW METs member. The address is
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NW-METs/

Details have now been confirmed for the next meeting of the NW METs
which will take place on Saturday July 1st from 10 - 1 at Tap and Zap
in Blackburn.

We hope you are able to attend as we are really pleased to have
Gwyneth Moss of Trance Pennine Emotional Health as our main speaker.
She is an EFT Master and Human Givens therapist who offers private
therapy and energy psychology workshops in Yorkshire. Gwyneth is not
charging a fee for her time but has asked participants to make a
donation (minimum £10) to a charity which provides schooling for
refugee children from Afghanistan that she is supporting this year.

Her topic will be Relieving the Effects of Trauma

Gwyneth says "EFT gives us practical techniques that so many of us
have found to be immediately effective in relieving the after effects
of traumatic experience; as a client so aptly put it: "now I can re-
tell what happened rather than re-live it". Some sufferers may come
to us jittery, and tearful and others may seem cool and detached so
which EFT technique do we use with which person? And what is going on
in the brain? This session aims to answer those questions and to
translate the recent discoveries of neuroscience into commonsense
language."

Gwyneth will be running this session at the EFT Masterclass event in
London on October 14/15 so for those who can't make it, you won't
miss out!

We hope that Gwyneth's session will be interesting enough to entice
you to attend on July 1st but if you need any more encouragement,
then there will also be time for some case studies so please contact
us as soon as possible if you have a case you would like to present
(N.B. Level 3 practitioners need to present a case in order to get a
CPD point). Gwyneth has kindly agreed to talk us through the CPD
system which she helped to design so if you have any queries I am
sure she will have the answers!

Places are limited to 25 so please book early to ensure your place!

We look forward to hearing from you soon and please get in touch if
you have any queries.

Best wishes

Maria Grant & Linda Walsh
