I am always clear that ET is for emotions as you have always asserted this from the start but I am prompted now to ask why? Why are you so certain that it is only for emotions since the energy field it works on can be responsible for physical manifestations?
To make it clear I am only wondering, not challenging. I find it intirguing.

Subject: [ET2] IMPORTANT - EmoTrance Is For Emotions
I consider this topic so extremely important that I have gathered the
original enquiry and Nicola's, Sandra's and my responses to this in one
mail which I would like you all to read very carefully one more time.
I take every opportunity to make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that EmoTrance is
ONLY for EMOTIONS.
This is a most serious topic for all ET practitioners and those who wish
to become ET practitioners and trainers in time; indeed for anyone
involved in the usage of it, so please make sure we are really clear on
this right from the start.
Thanks,
Silvia

Original Enquiry:
Hi folks,
I realize I'm just starting to learn this stuff, so I don't have any
established patterns to draw on in emergency situations.. Today I
pulled something in my back and was in excruciating pain for about an
hour before it subsided. The pain was so diffuse that I couldn't even
tell where to focus my attention. It radiated all over my back and
front.
So during this time I'm thinking of how to focus my energy, and
because it was such an acute stress I didn't expect much, but still I
just kept putting the intention there to let the energy move how it
wanted to. That was about all I could think of to do, so I trusted
it.
That helped me to not tighten up against the pain but let it soften,
and I kept shifting positions because the pain kept changing, so I
was just sort of following it around. Probably the Ibuprofen and
Arnica helped the pain more directly, but I bet that focus helped me
deal with the pain in some other ways.
I'm not sure if that would be considered ET, but that's all I could
do. Any comments on that? How do others handle acute pain situations
using ET or EFT? (at that point, there was no place on my body I
wanted to actually tap, and I didn't have the concentration to tap
mentally).
So far I'm reading about ET in terms of "where do you feel that in
your body".. but for sensation/pain that's already quite
physiologial, do you work with it in a similar way?
Thanks,

Hi Karen,
We don't treat physical pain with EmoTrance, ever, it was not created to
do that, only to deal with emotions.
So when I get hurt or do something stupid which may result in pain I
deal with the nausea that stubbing my toe may produce or the annoyance
at having contracted flu which has wrecked my plans.
We are working on different levels here which may or may not have an
effect on the physical body but we are dealing strictly with the
sensations within the body that emotions create.
And yes I have found that in certain circumstances after EmoTrancing the
emotions the pain has brought up that I do feel the pain differently or
at least see if differently but that is without directly working on the
pain itself.
And another thing to remember is that a stressfree body heals quicker,
we don't know the mechanics of how our bodies heal themselves but we can
assist by reducing the stress that emotional disturbances cause and let
it get on with what it does best.

Hi
Can I just add something here ...
That even though we only treat emotions with ET, we should also remember
that energy responds instantly to thought, and that wherever there are
symptoms, there is blocked energy. So, when we have a pain, and we use
our intention to soften it, we are softening the blocked energy at that
place, which then responds and flows as it does with emotions. Releasing
the blocked energy of a physical symptom, creates relaxation there which
in turn promotes the healing processes.

Yes and I would also like to add something else as well, which is that
we do not treat or release PAIN - ONLY ENERGY.
This is not a semantic detail but the very heart and CORE of the
EmoTrance system.
Beyond the need to understand this to make ET really work, namely that
the only label or metaphor or word or concept we treat with it is
ENERGY, it is also important to be TOTALLY CLEAR about this in other
contexts.
For example, in advertising.
As it is next to impossible to explain to either the Trade Standards
Authority or someone off the street what the structural difference
between pain and the ENERGY OF PAIN are, I have taken the option to
RESTRICT THE USAGE OF EMOTRANCE TO EMOTIONS ONLY.
Emotions are defined in the EmoTrance system (and beyond in my wider
work) as being PHYSICAL SENSATIONS THAT DO NOT HAVE A PHYSIOLOGICAL
EQUIVALENCY.
So, any physical sensation that derives from a wound or injury or
illness DOES NOT FALL INTO THE BRIEF OF EMOTRANCE.
People may play with "the energy of pain" in the privacy of their own
homes but the professionals involved, such as Sandra, Nicola and myself,
cannot and MUST NOT be seen to encourage or in any way suggest that
"pain is treatable with EmoTrance".
That is NOT what EmoTrance (the design and product) is, that's NOT what
it is for, and users must be left in no doubt whatsoever that we do not
encourage or condone the usage of EmoTrance for such purposes.
You could say that we have a screwdriver here, which is indeed, a fine,
fine screwdriver. Beautifully made and VERY effective as a screwdriver.
To try and use it in ANY OTHER form or function is at somebody's own
risk and NOT what we made this for.
I thank the original poster for allowing me to state this once again
clearly so we can be absolutely congruent on this.
Best regards,
Silvia Hartmann
