Thanks to all for your responses.. helped me round out my
understanding of it. I probably should have clarified that I was
really not intending to treat the pain with ET, but for that period
of time suffering there on the couch with nothing else to do, I
figured it would be best to do some mental focus on energy instead of
just letting my mind dwell on the pain.

So I just tried to tune in to energy, trusting that would have to do
some good on that level and then trickle down to the physical in some
way, but I'm happy even that it helped my state of mind at the time.

Actually I think that what helped most was knowing that I didn't have
to respond to this situation in the ways I would have previously;
that there were ways I could mobilize myself differently and relate
to the whole experience in a more positive way.. maybe a subtle
thing, but it made a huge difference in my feeling empowered vs.
being on the verge of panicky.

Even just the realization that I can change my perception of the
medical situations, is a huge thing for me. I knew it intellectually
before, for all the good that did me :-).. and now I'm beginning to
experience it.

Thanks again,
Karen
