As I was passing the door, I'll take that one.
a) The overall emotion is too intense so i focus on where the energy
is, but it's all over!! I tried Silvia's Proxy technique for my
inner child but no definite place to start. Also tried to say the
words out loud.
The technical term for this is "being inside the state" and just
experiencing it, rather than to be meta to it and in that place of
clarity where it is *only an energy*. It is only from and in THAT state
that EmoTrance really works.
In consultations with practitioners, they provide the anchor to bring
the person in the process back to that state where they have BOTH
awareness of the kinaesthetics, i.e. the feelings AND at the same time,
have the overview of lucidity to move and track the movements of energy.
This is achieved by telling the client, "It is ONLY an energy."
To explain that "inside the state" experience a bit more, it is like
there is a pathway in and out of the state. The question, "Where do you
feel that in your body?" is standing on a top of a hill, looking down as
it were, and ask the native to identify which village that is that has
problem X.
Now what a lot of people do is to SWOOP immediately from the top of that
hill (ordinary working awareness states one would have whilst shopping
or brushing one's teeth) straight INTO the problem erea.
Then you're inside of it.
We call that, "Going to Snake Town".
Once you are inside of it, of course it is EVERYWHERE AND ALL AROUND,
but more, it is ALL THERE IS.
You are now in the proverbial swamp and can't pull yourself out of it by
your hair, and the usual routes and processes for getting out of the
swamp now apply - three hours of crying, say, sad music, followed by bed
with headache, and four days of misery and much aromatherapy and
meditation before "normal operating procedure" has been arrived at once
more, and we've worked our way painfully and slowly back up to the top
of the hill.
I've made the comment that I HIGHLY ADVISE ***BEGINNERS*** in Emotrance
who are WORKING BY THEMSELVES AND ALONE (or in other words, without
playing with a friend or anyone else, including an ETP around to stop
that swoop into the problem ereas) to play with everyday topics all the
time and until one gets better at it.
I recommend to check out this message for the processes involved
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/starfields/message/2438
So, in short one more time:
1. Practise with simple, easy things until you're good at it.
2. Don't do it on things that are beyond your own ability to hold state
BY YOURSELF;
3. Although we have our special test subjects of Snaketowns we like to
try out on EVERY therapy or technique right away when we come across it,
that is probably not either a good proactive way of getting it resolved,
nor to understand the workings of the new technique, and that's
regardless of what it is but also including EFT and EmoTrance.
4. When you find yourself inside a particular Snake Town, seek to ride
out as fast as possible again rather than to try and change it. You
can't change it from there, only from the top of the hill which gives
the lucidity, overview and power over the systems involved.
Hope that helps,
SFx
