Interesting.

This whole thing is the strangest thing. Catching memories and
thoughts in your hands and moving them around. Still, if it's good
enough for Bandler and Satir, it's good enough for me :-)
As an aside, when we did the guiding star passing over yesterday,
either one of us had one occasion where we literally couldn't move
our arms at all at max will power to push the memory or to let go
of it.
In both cases we ceased struggling because that ain't even flow
and came to an acceptable resolution where the GS could be finally
let go off.

Bandler has a DHE pattern whereby he spins various
thoughts/energies by looping them back on themselves and each
revolution adds to the power of the pattern. Its possible that
something like that is at work in a thought loop - it becomes less
compulsive when it doesn't feed back on itself any longer.

Yes I would agree with that completely. It feels good when you do
it and is virtually an instant relief, stress levels dropping so
noticeably. I often heave a big sigh of relief or actually find
myself breathing again afterward.
Everything else is sheer icing on the cake IMO.
