Hi Stephen
Thanks for your information - that makes sense. About BSFF, I have thought of getting the BSFF book, but am not sure if you have to do muscle testing, which I am no good at. Could you please let me know if I can use BSFF with myself and clients without muscle testing?
Regards, Julie

Hi Julie,
Indeed the debate has become a cat herding session.
Using the WHEE butterfly hug tapping along with Tapas' affirmations works beautifully. At the end of the session everything that has been worked on can be bundled together to make sure everybody and everything has been forgiven.
The cross tapping back and forth stimulates both sides of the brain the conscious and unconscious to act on the affirmation. As far as I know nobody has been able to prove this, but I find this explanation is better accepted by skeptical patients.
These methods including TAT all have one thing in common, the intent of the tapping, hand positions, etc. signal the subconscious to act.
And what is Emotrance? Pure intent.
Personally I find that BSFF combined with Emotrance is most effective. BSFF uses no hand positions or tapping at all. ( The videos show tapping, but it is no longer used). A simple cue word is used to signal intent to the subconscious to act and it is fast, simple and thorough.
Sincerely,
Stephen

Hi Stephen
I'm interested in how you combine TAT and WHEE (both of which I have studied with the respective originators) ? The TAT hands position does not seem to combine easily with the WHEE tapping, please could you let me know how you use these together? As you probably know from earlier posts, I use Robert Smith's Faster EFT tapping routine with ET and feel it really speeds the process up.
Would you have any ideas on how these therapies stimulate both hemispheres of the brain to work in a coordinated manner and release trauma? I look on the "energy" model as just a model rather than an actual reality - a bit like dark matter and energy, and in fact the painful feelings can be described as "stuck emotions" with more sceptical clients. There is a huge very interesting debate going on about ET after the article in Times Higher Education about ET being taught in a school which has rather got caught up in this very point instead of focussing on the actual observable positive effects of the technique.

Hi Julie,
I purposely do not distinguish between EMDR and other "energy" therapies.
Other modalities such as TAT, WHEE, TFT and some others are quite formal and require some practice. To become certified in EMDR last time I checked it requires only a weekend or two workshops and a degree in psychology of some sort.
EMDR is simple and elegant, no rocket science required. Its results are uncontested by everybody that has used it properly.
All these therapies do the same thing and work with the same principle. The tapping, hand positions, the eye movements stimulate both hemispheres of the brain to work in a coordinated manner and thus allow release of traumas major and minor very quickly.
My personal experience with patients is EMDR brings about miracles, EFT works better and is faster. TAT is even better. Combining TAT with WHEE is amazing. Emotrance is in a class of its own, bypassing the conscious mind enableing the client to make large shifts quickly.
As an acupuncturist I clearly cannot buy the explainations of meridians or acupuncture points relasing "energy". This led me to the discovery that all these modalities are nothing but different ways of working with the same underlying principle.
We all may have our favorite therapy, some of us simply work better with one modality over another.
Stephen

Hi Stephen
For the sake of accuracy I think you will find that the practitioners of EMDR do not class it as an energy therapy. In fact its full name (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) hints at the precision and formality of the technique.
