sounds almost like your web designer is the boss.
Wll in my opinion he/she offers a service you presumably pay for. Thus
*you* are the boss.

I heard about quite a few designers who are quite presumptuous.

*You* decide, what goes on *your* website. If they don't agree choose
another one. There is no shortage.
