I very much agree with your main point: that there is something beyond going to "zero". I never liked the metaphor of aiming for "zero distress", myself.
Sounds to much like anesthesia (just like the behaviorist talk of "systematic desensitization", BRRRR.)
In fact, in working with Sud scales therapists may give all kind of unfortunate implied suggestions.
On the other hand: I was talking about something very, very different from "post-coital cuddling".
I was talking about a *profoundly healing* *energetic* state which is different from what you describe as the Energetic End State...
It also doesn't need a partner. In fact, most people find it more difficult at first to connect to that state at first when with a partner.
And I have reasons to believe that people need to be able to experience both Flow and Glow.
