Hi J'net,

for what it's worth, what I've found round here with some very
stalward ETers who are into *really deep level change* is that as
we are moving stuff, *reality* comes closer and defensive
illusions seem to recede.

This can actually be quite a hard thing to take and it's true, has
caused us some considerable dismay. But then, you can always ET
the dismay and then come to the conclusion that the first step
towards recovery is to drop the illusions and stand up and say,
I'm Peter and I'm an alcoholic if that is what actually is the
truth.

I've always considered myself a realistic cynic or perhaps cynical
realist and must confess to being astonished at the complexity of
my own illusions.

Where this is playing out most heavily at this moment is with
prosperity issues which is also your specialist subject.

Seems that certain people who of course must remain nameless
aren't running their businesses to make money (which is what
businesses are for) but in order to fill a huge variety of needs,
from friendship and "family" illusions to attempting to achieve
recognition and self worth and then some.

Indeed, the filling of said needs is a far higher priority than
profitability, in some cases most dramatically so, and the poor
businesses are tearing apart under the strain of what's expected
of them and what they simply cannot ever fulfil.

In the meantime, the people involved are struggling harder and
harder, working harder and harder but what they're working on is
not actual profitability but only to *shore up an illusion of
profitability* to allow them to keep gaining these other benefits
under the guise of running a business.

Which, as you can imagine, is one huge, appalling, disgusting mess
in every sense of the word and I can well understand that one
might certainly not look at that at all and prefer to keep hopping
along in cloud cuckoo land instead - and that would be fine if the
grating discord between reality and illusion wouldn't stack up to
the point of psychosomatics and eventually, nervous breakdowns and
stress induced illnesses.

But on the bright side, ET et al can help with courage to take a
look what's beneath the thick layers of pink fluffy wallpaper, the
energy it takes to strip it all down, the ideas it needs to find
the funds for a builder to come in and really sort the rot, and
the resolve that the time has finally come to take this drastic
and highly important action without which the future looks most
bleak indeed.

LOL!

There we have ... something ...

:-)
