Hi Nicola,

I've danced twice now. The first session was so intense I felt like
vomiting, obviously moving lots of stuff that has been stuck. I felt
the stuckness largely in my gut and my sternum. By the end of the 8
songs, I was a mess, and took solace in a Dead Sea salt bath laced
with essential oils. I did feel much better after that.

The second time around, I found that I was feeling nothing, a problem
I often encounter in my own Emotrance sessions. I will persist
though, because I think the dancing gives me at least some access to
frozen emotion, in a way that stationary Emotrance doesn't.

Due to having husband at home for the summer (he's a teacher), I am
having trouble finding time to do the dancing. I feel very exposed
and shy about it, and need to be alone (except for my constant
companion, my doggie).

One thing that is interesting is that my Australian Cattle Dog/Border
Collie cross, Dixie, actually allows me to do this dancing, as if she
knows I am doing something energetically important for my health (and
hers, by extension). Any other dancing around here gets her up and
barking immediately, as if we were silly cows gone astray from the
herd! With Energy Dancing, she hops up on the sofa, and watches me
throughout until I am done.

For me right now, the most evocative piece is the Snake Dance, maybe
because I am feeling like a very blocked writer with no way to
express herself.

Cheers!
Virginia
