Hi there.
This sense of "losing something" when you are doing a lot of EFT has been expressed by many, and I've heard the reservation that we're tapping "away" too much before as well, and from many different kinds of people.
Indeed, that was one of Nicola's main objections to using EFT on certain topics at all.
I don't feel that way about EFT; I don't think you can lose anything important, and Nicola and I agreed after a while on the precept that, "if it is real, you can't tap it away - and if you CAN tap it away, it wasn't actually real in the first place".
I see EmoTrance as being useful in that sense in three ways.
First, EmoTrance brings everything back into the HERE AND NOW. Secondly, it avoids thinking too much and generating all these ENDLESS opening statements (thank the Lord is all I can say! I was getting seriously weary of generating these endless, endless lists of opening statments and seeing no end in sight, it's true).
Thirdly, and that's possibly the most important aspect, we don't stop at zero with EmoTrance, but always aim to go forward into pleasant, joyful sensations which happen automatically when the energy really zings through the channels as it should.
So it's like you are replacing a bad experience with a good experience, and that might be why there have been so far no reports on apex effect with EmoTrance. People really, REALLY remember what that was like when the old stuff just slithered away and the world became brighter.
Perhaps its as simple as that EFT stops the treatment too soon, going for the zero point of nothingness. Perhaps if one just then added another round to get into those freeflowing, exciting energy states which do exist, we'd have less apex effect and this objection you feel which is felt by many, would likewise disappear?
It's an interesting question, to be sure.
