This is true.
Still, in ET theory, rejecting an energy usually means that behind the shield, there's an injury which would really hurt if that energy was let in.
Fundamentalists and the anally retentive tend to have been brought up in very damaging circumstances and they have a lot of injuries. One touches that ever so slightly and they can't help but freak out.
It's a sad thing.
I guess love (unconditional attention) could cure it but unfortunately, those people who need it the most get the least of it because they are already so unattractive (energetic lepers!) and so shielded on top of it. When they're not freaking out, that is, which makes them even more unattractive, less lovable and that leads to even more of the same. A vicious downward spiral into extremism.
Which is culturally encouraged for control purposes.
Hopefully, as the new energy psychologies filter through the population and start to impact the world, we'll see some interesting changes.
