Hi everyone,
I have just seen the most amazing movie called "Rhythm is it" which
documents a project involving 250 young people who were recruited to
perform a dance with the Berlin Philharmonic Symphony. Many of these
youngsters came from disadvantaged backgrounds, and it was very moving
to see how the music and dance transformed them over the weeks of
rehersals. My ET antenna especially tuned in when Sir Simon Rattle,
the conductor of the philharmonic, talked about going to a concert at
the age of 10 or so and feeling the music moving through his body like
electricity. Another wonderful ET moment was when a young man talked
about how he had always hid behind a kind of mask, but that the
dancing had allowed him to finally feel good in his body. If any of
you get the chance to see this film, write back and tell us how it
made you feel.
my best,
Liz
