I've always remembered being slippered at pre-school when I was 4. It
was in a maths class so that must be the reason I've always been crap
at the subject!

What I didn't know was that when I got home crying again (this is as
relayed to me by my mum), she asked what the matter was and I pointed
to my bum. When she checked it she found lots of puncture marks
where tacks had been placed in the slipper.

I don't think she knew I was being slippered until then (the teacher
was very intimidating and I wouldn't have said anything!), and I
don't think she did anything.

I've always wondered if this was why I was distant at school and had
difficulty learning anything like maths and science, but was always
alright at English and the arts - which was taught by another teacher
at pre-school.

Robert.
