Here's another interesting parallel - with interesting differences too.
Neil Slade has further developed a way to free ourselves from being controlled by our more primitive brain and be inspired by our more creative brain. And found this to be a doorway to all kinds of peak-experiences.
It is called "clicking your amygdalae forward", and is done by imagine tickling the front part of your amydalae with a feather.
This activates a neurological loop from the amygdalae into the prefrontal lobes; a loop that is damaged in e.g. PTSD.
