Hi Silvia and listmates,
Okay, since I started this I thought I'd send an update as I've been
playing. I couldn't think of anything I think of as a bad habit instead I
picked something physical that I do and that I don't do as well as I like.
I picked karate. I wish I could jump better, in fact I was wondering if I
could shift how well I jump and do a 360 degree turn in the air and then
land. So here's what happened:
I stood in my living room and did the jump I was thinking of.
Then I sat down and noted how it felt to do it paying particular attention
to what didn't go so well and looked for the energy of that in my body.
Got a sense of a whirling energy in my chest frenetically spinning.
I tried to let it flow out but it wouldn't stop spinning until I literally
stopped it and then got it to start to flow. Now as it flowed it didn't
just go out but started to flow out the front and over the top of my head
and then back in until I had a nice smooth circle going in and
out,interesting--mind you this is jut happening without any conscious
intention on my part other then that it flows.
Next as I "watched/felt" this I got the sense of a gyroscope and additional
slowing spinning circles started to be added in different directions.
Next a long column flowed down the middle--
I thought I was done, but I checked by just thinking again about doing the
jump and I got a sense of heaviness in my butt (like a lead weight) which is
how the jump felt like I was jumping with a heavy weight and spinning out of
control. So I let that flow until it formed a nice grounding cord but very
light-interesting
Then I thught of the jump again and it felt completely different--so now for
the real test--I did the jump in the physical and lo and behold if it wasn't
quite a damn site better--not perfect mind you but it flowed and not so
heavy.
My end conclusion from this trial of one is that you can shift physical
"habits" although there may well be more than one "energy structure" or
aspect to work on. I thought the thinking before doing it check was very
nice and the correlation with how it felt to do it in the physical was quite
good.
So I will keep playing with this--but just thought I'd give an update in
case anyone else wanted to try to play with something other than heavy
emotional baggage--or maybe this is--just packaged as a lead butt not a
heavy heart ;-)

What I would do - and this is the best way in which to answer this
question at all because as soon as I try to think "i" and "guitar"
I lose all sense of anything emotrance or personal
development-related, that's the swamp thing, see?
What I would do if there was another person wanting to do
emotrance on THEIR ingrained bad habits with a guitar or a golf
club or something wandering into my office here, the thing under
their arm, I'd say to them, well, let's start somewhere.
Look at the object.
Where do you feel that (guitar/golfclub/piano/typewriter etc) in
your body? show me with your hands,
and take it from there.
Get them to a new and different point of a fresh start with that
same object, embuing it with different meanings and therefore,
different reflexes altogether, kicking into action different parts
of the neurology, so when they start to play again, it is from a
different place altogether as well.
Then let the session unfold.
By myself?
Oh I'll just sing Silver City probably.
Or Say The Words.
LOL
