Thanks for your helpful posts!

It made me realize that some of the people I had in mind (who didn't come to feel more) probably have a shield between themselves and their all of emotions/ bodily feelings.
And that we probably could work very well with that, using the shield opening gradually... the fact that this gives them a good amount of control over the intensity of the process is probably crucial (assuming that this dissociation from embodied experience is due to overwhelming early experiences).

  A further thought on the 'cant feel anything' people ........

  For some it maybe a threshold level that is relevant, as discussed in the last emails. For those who cantfeel at all, you could do some sheilds work if they were interested to look at why they cant.

  I had a client who came in specifically for this. She couldnt feel anything and wanted to. I explained the energy flow concepts and suggested that she was either so open and free flowing that everything just ran straight through, didnt get stuck, so no emotional reaction, or maybe there was some kind of detachment, barrier, sheild put there at some point. She volunteered that the latter was probably the case. I asked how long she'd been like this and she said 12 months. So we looked at what was happeneing back then, and she'd shut herself off due to not being able to handle stuff going on with the break up of her last relationship. So, we located this sheild in relation to her ex husband and after clearing her resistance to taking it down (in throat and jaw), dismantling the sheild gradually and getting the energy flowing again, she 'felt' totally different. It was interesting also to note that the numbness she had about her sister who has cancer was replaced with feelings of& nbsp; love.

    What have you found most helpful when working with clients who apparently have very little body-awareness and can't feel where the energy wants to go, once the tension is softened?
